Production Planning and Control Manager


Brief Summary:

The Production Planning & Control Manager is responsible for developing and monitoring operational standards, control systems as well as production planning and tracking.

Reporting to the General Manager, he/she will work closely with the manufacturing and QA managers to improve the Key Performance Indicators of the factory. He/she has to establish new production control systems based on SAP and LEAN standards to ensure the highest customer service. He/she is also responsible for proactive customer information.


  • Support factory KPIs (e.g. Order Fulfilment, Past Due, On-Time-delivery, Inventory)
  • Plan and establish a production schedule and follow up performance against the plan
  • Monitors the production progress and adjusts schedules as needed to assure a smooth production flow
  • Proactively work within factory teams to ensure the adherence of the schedule. Notify the customers of potential issues or delays and provide a recovery plan if necessary.
  • Develop, implement and monitor production standards, production tracking and control systems based on LEAN management standards
  • Review operations with the Manufacturing Management to identify and resolve production bottlenecks and/or processing problems
  • Prepare regular production reports and monitor variances in production volumes and forecasts
  • Review, monitor and report the factory capacity by department. Utilize a capacity plan based on provided forecast and new business opportunities
  • Manage WIP and Raw Material Inventory levels and accuracy and report on inventory metrics
  • Maintain product and production data master to support production planning and manufacturing. (e.g. Material Master, BOMS, routings)
  • Coordinate with HQ Production Planning to execute load transfers and outsourcing to balance plant requirements versus capacity
  • Manage Raw Material Planning and plant MRP parameters to ensure correct PO stream to component suppliers
  • Promote LEAN philosophy, lead and support Continuous Process Improvement
  • Supervision of Production Control team
  • Any other ad-hoc assignment


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years leadership experience in an industrial environment; and a strong team player
  • Experience in Production Control in a high-volume component production is required
  • Knowledge of comprehensive SAP and LEAN Management training
  • Proven results and accomplishments in Production Control Management
  • Strong analytical and computer related skills
  • Able to develop and establish metrics to measure program success
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English
  • Experience in providing subject matter expertise for Production Planning business process area within SAP IMM module
  • Expertise in production master data such as Material Masters, Material Revisions, Document Info Records, BOMs, Work Centers, and Routings and their integration touchpoints with production planning and execution
  • Expertise in production planning strategy and strategy groups, sales order entry and planned independent requirements
  • Expertise with PP/MM Integration touchpoints such as MRP groups, subcontracting , and vendor consignment, planned order/purchase requisition or purchase requisition to Purchase Order conversion
  • Experience in solution integration and quality within SAP PP, with hands-on experience in PP Master Data, PP Interfaces, PP Production Orders/ Shop Floor Control Set-up, as well as experience with Costing (PP-Product Costing Integration), PP-MM Integration and Availability Check
  • Experience in MRP, such as MRP controller, MRP types, MRP groups, special procurement type, Planning parameters, Lot sizing procedures, and Planning strategies
  • Experience in Production related data, Reporting and Managing Product Disposition Experience in LEAN philosophy and other continuous improvement concepts
