Experience Innovation Live: Edmund Optics at LASER World of PHOTONICS 2025

Marking 25 years in Europe, Edmund Optics presents new technologies, engaging live demos, and interactive guided tours.

6/2/2025, Barrington, NJ USA   —

Edmund Optics®, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of optical components, will present its latest technologies and application-ready solutions at LASER World of PHOTONICS 2025, taking place in Munich, Germany. Visitors can explore Edmund Optics’ offerings in Hall B1, Booth 416, where the company will highlight its Advanced Manufacturing and Marketplace portfolios through live demos, product showcases, and expert discussions.

At this year’s show, Edmund Optics will highlight two live demonstrations that showcase its advanced optical manufacturing capabilities. The first is a test and alignment station for f-theta lenses, offering visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the company’s expertise in laser optics and precision assembly. The second is a lightweight aluminum mirror, highlighting cutting-edge diamond turning solutions for demanding applications.

These demos are part of Edmund Optics’ broader presentation of its expanding Advanced Manufacturing Services, which include the production of aspheric lenses, mirrors, laser optics, advanced assemblies, and high-precision diamond-turned optics. The recently added diamond turning capabilities result from the acquisition of German company son-x earlier this year, now integrated into Edmund Optics’ Advanced Manufacturing Group.

For even deeper insights into ultra-precision diamond turning capabilities and their role in enabling highly customized optical components, visitors are invited to explore a second booth in Hall 1, Booth 214, hosted by son-x.

Edmund Optics is committed to supporting engineers and researchers driving advancements in laser systems, microscopy, spectroscopy, and optical sensing. At our showcase, visitors can explore a curated selection of in-stock components, including optical isolators, beam shapers, precision mounts, spectrometers, gas cells, liquid lenses, polarizers, and high-performance microscope objectives. As part of the experience, we invite visitors from the research and university sector to join our “Behind the Beams” tour, a guided walk-through highlighting how EO products enable real-world applications, from beam delivery to biosciences. Apply now to be part of the tour and discover where innovation meets optics!

Two additional demo stations will complement the booth experience. A Michelson interferometer, built entirely with EO’s modular and affordable E-Series components, will demonstrate how users can quickly construct precision optical experiments. Alongside it, a fluorescence microscopy system, developed in collaboration with OpenUC2, showcases the flexibility of EO imaging products in compact, motorized, and adaptable setups. Both demos are reproducible, and full material list will be available.

You can also meet Edmund Optics experts at the trade show’s technical program. On June 24, Mathias Mende will present “Ion Beam Sputtering of Tunable Bandpass Filters” (14:20, Hall B2.350), and on June 25, Bill Murray will discuss “Next-Generation F-Theta Lens Design” (12:40, Hall A2.591).

Adding to the excitement, Edmund Optics is proud to announce that its PeakPower High LDT Low GDD Ultrafast Mirrors have been selected as finalists for the Innovation Award 2025 in the category of Laser and Optoelectronics / Illumination and Energy. These mirrors offer the highest commercially-available laser damage threshold in their market, with reflectivity above 99.5%, minimal group delay dispersion, and laser damage thresholds exceeding 0.75 J/cm² for 25 femtosecond pulses at 920 nm. The Innovation Award at LASER World of PHOTONICS is granted by Messe München in collaboration with the publishing house Europa Science, honoring outstanding photonics innovations selected by an expert jury. Winners receive industry-wide recognition, a formal award, and a cash prize presented during the show.

But this year’s LASER event not only showcases the latest in photonics innovation, it also marks the beginning of a very special celebration: Edmund Optics' 25-year anniversary in Europe. What began in 2000 has since evolved into a strong network of manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and sales offices across the continent. To honor this milestone, Edmund Optics will host a special customer event during the show, with anniversary festivities continuing across all European locations in the months ahead.
