Dynamic Focus VZM Lenses use an internal liquid lens to electronically adjust focus

Seamless focus adjustment over a 7X range

3/12/2015, Barrington, NJ USA   —

Edmund Optics (EO), the premier provider of optical components, introduces its new Dynamic Focus VZM Lenses. These lenses use an internal liquid lens to seamlessly adjust focus over a 7X range, from 0.65X to 4.6X. At the same time, the lens maintains the zoom capabilities of the standard VZM Zoom Imaging Lenses. Dynamic Focus VZM Lenses are ideal for a broad range of applications including microscopy and circuit board inspection.

Features lockable iris, zoom control and rotatable mount

Dynamic Focus VZM Lenses feature a lockable iris, zoom control and a rotatable mount for optimal camera orientation. A removable mounting flange allows the lens to fit into the 50 mm diameter through hole of the rack and pinion mount #03-609. The RoHS compliant lens measures 248 mm in length and provides a 2/3 inch maximum camera sensor format with a working distance of 87 mm.

Includes software for focus tuning

The internal liquid lens is controlled via the rugged 6-pin HIROSE connector and a USB port. Coarse magnification adjustments can be made manually. The Dynamic Focus VZM Lenses include software, allowing them to be programmed to cycle through focus with a square, sinusoidal or sawtooth waveform or adjustable frequency and focus-shift range. Dynamic Focus VZM Lenses are in-stock and available for immediate delivery for fast turnaround and excellent value.
